Was this ignored knowingly in the Jagan Mohan Reddy

government?

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP leader N. Chandrababu Naidu alleged that the renowned Tirupati laddu was made with “animal fat” and substandard ingredients during the Jagan Mohan Reddy government. Speaking at an NDA legislature party meeting in Amaravati on Wednesday, Naidu stated, “Even Tirumala laddu was made with inferior ingredients... they used animal fat instead of ghee.” He emphasized that pure ghee is now being used and that all processes at the temple have been sanitized, resulting in improved quality.

The Jagan-led YSRC party has dismissed the allegations. The Tirupati laddu prasadam is offered at the esteemed Sri Venkateswara temple in Tirupati, managed by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). In a post on the social media platform X, Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh expressed his shock, stating, “The Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple at Tirumala is our most sacred temple. I am appalled to learn that the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy administration used animal fat instead of ghee in the Tirupati prasadam.”

Targeting the previous YSRCP government, Lokesh alleged that it failed to respect the religious sentiments of millions of devotees. YSRCP leader YV Subba Reddy, who served as the chairman of TTD for two terms, stated that Chandrababu Naidu's “malicious” comments have severely undermined the sanctity of Tirumala and the faith of countless Hindus. “His remarks about the Tirumala prasadam are deeply malicious. No one should make such accusations,” Subba Reddy wrote in a post on X. TDP leader Pattabhi Ram Kommareddy also pointed out that between 2019 and 2024, Jagan Mohan Reddy, as Chief Minister, appointed his own relatives as Chairman of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam.

“We all know that between 2019 and 2024, Jagan Mohan Reddy, as Chief Minister, appointed his own uncles as Chairman of TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam). YV Subba Reddy and Karunakar Reddy, both close family members of Jagan, were given these positions, leading to the alleged looting of TTD funds,” said Kommareddy. “Immediately after we came into power, we initiated a vigilance inquiry at TTD. The preliminary report from the vigilance department revealed that approximately ₹530 crore had been misappropriated. It also indicated that the ghee used for making the prasadam had bypassed lab tests and showed traces of animal fat being used in the prasadam for Lord Balaji in Tirumala,” he added.
